A huge thank you to our local TDs Pa Daly, and Danny and Michael Healy Rae who were among over 50 TDs and Senators who attended a briefing given by the Alliance of Cancer Support and Services in Leinster House yesterday. (Including Recovery Haven Kerry, represented by our manager Gemma Fort)

The briefing heard about the funding challenges cancer support centres face and we were delighted with the positive engagement and support received for the 26 cancer support centres represented.

This was a great opportunity to showcase what we do and to highlight the challenges facing community-based cancer support services, such as Recovery Haven, and the need for sustainable funding.

We would also like to express our thanks to our other local representatives who were unable to attend yesterday but who have pledged their support to the campaign.

At Recovery Haven Kerry, Cancer Support House, we rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising to continue offering our support services free of charge to cancer patients and their loved ones.
