Tim McSwiney (Chairperson) was delighted to welcome Minister Norma Foley, Prof Risteárd Ó Laoide – National Director, NCCP, Louise Mullins Head of Survivorship NCCP, HSE Staff members for Kerry/Cork along with our volunteers as we launched our report into Building Better Carers Self-management programme. The MTU research team included Dr Gerardina Harnett, Dr Dominika Lisiecka, Dr Michael Hall and Ciara O’ Sullivan who worked closely with Siobhan MacSweeney and Noreen O’Flaherty of Recovery Haven Kerry. A special welcome to Orla Keenan and her daughter Cai. Orla bravely shared her experience of being a participant on the programme and has kindly raised €4,500 in memory of her husband Mike. This funding will be used to help fund programmes going forward. Next online ‘Building Better Carers’ programme coming in Jan ’24-further information contact

Every donation makes a difference

At Recovery Haven Kerry, Cancer Support House, we rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising to continue offering our support services free of charge to cancer patients and their loved ones.

Your donation will help them through their cancer journey, by providing information, counselling and wellbeing services or support managing thoughts and emotions. We can only continue to provide our services free of charge to those who need it with your help.

A monthly recurring donation provides us with a consistent and reliable source of funding that allows us to plan ahead while ensuring our support and services for cancer patients and their loved ones can remain free of charge.
